In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it was the top-streamed track in just six months. The mix of reggaeton with pop music not only brought people back to this style, but also to Latin music as a whole. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs in 2016, as opposed to two songs from the year 2015. At the height of Despacito's popularity 19, 19 tracks mostly Spanish made it to the Top 100. By 2020, there will be 41 tracks from this category. Justin Bieber's remix in two languages Despacito was released in 2017. Soon after, popular artistes began to collaborate with reggaeton singers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny for MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked with Maluma for Medellin. In 2020, a few Reggaeton artists were complaining about its direction toward the mainstream. However, a younger generation, Rauw Alejandro was determined to maintain the development. His style often included elements of electronic dance music and other genres.
