Amy Smart was an American model and actress. Amy Smart was born and raised in California, USA. Amy Smart started modelling in Italy. Her acting career began in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. From there to starring in a minor role in the feature film Starship Troopers she struggled very hard. It was a difficult transition for Amy because she had transition from modelling to acting. Models aren't thought of as great actors so they tend to play smaller, less important roles. Amy did not give up and she eventually landed larger parts in the movies Varsity Blues and The 70s. The 2005 romance comedy Just Friends, which also had Ryan Reynolds, saw her take on larger role. Amy found her recognition after more than ten years of trying. The actress continued to appear in important films like Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she became a cherished as a recurring character.
